Workout Results - Day 3
Today’s workout consisted of the following:
Cardio:
Treadmill - 30 Minutes - 1.75 Miles Ran
Notes: Today I tried fast walking at a steady pace for the 20 minutes after warm up and before cool down. I still manage to make it to the 1.75 mile mark, and it was fairly challenging to maintain a steady pace throughout compared to the intermittent run / walk I normally do.
Strength Training:
Squats:
Set #1 - 260lbs x 8 reps
Set #2 - 260lbs x 8 reps
Set #3 - 260lbs x 8 reps
Seated Calf Raises:
Set # 1 - 260 lbs x 8 reps
Set # 2 - 260 lbs x 8 reps
Set # 3 - 260 lbs x 8 reps
Notes: Weights for both squats and calf raises were definitely the right weights. I’ll use the same ones next time. Felt just right.
Hey Paul, great work. Just a bit of advice, if you use the same weights next time shoot for adding one more repetition to your sets to keep you moving forward.
Yeah, I’ll work on progressing the amount of weight forward. For now I just wanted to get my muscles used to working out again.
Also, when I do my reps, if I don’t feel the burn what I’ll do is I’ll slown down the last few sets and really let the muscles burn. So even if I’m not pushing any more weight, it fatigues the muscles more due to the static contraction state.
I will increase my weight lifted with time though for sure.
